THE COUNT DOWN TO THE 2011 RACE SEASON

April 7, 2011 (Hampton, MN) Now that the biggest truck show of 2011 has been won, Jonathan Eilen has his eyes set on the 2011 ASA Midwest Tour race season.

“We have been working on the cars all winter, but it is crunch time now,” stated Jonathan. “I had to take a couple weeks off from working on the car to get my truck and trailer ready for the show but now it is all eyes on racing.”

The cars are getting closer and closer to being ready everyday, but it is definitely a slow process when Jonathan and his crew work full-time jobs away from the shop five days a week. This week the motors will be put into the cars and the bodies will be put together. The race hauler should be home soon after its “make-over.” And after an unwanted lengthy break from racing, driver, Jonathan Eilen, is more than ready to get back on the track.

“I can’t wait to get back into the car and race again. It was definitely a long off season for me” stated Eilen, speaking of last season when he broke his back during the last three laps of the third race of the season. “Not only am I anxious to get back on the track, but I am also excited to see the other teams on the tour, the ASAMT staff, and all of the fans. I just hope no one has forgotten about me after my long break!” stated Jonathan with a smile.

The ASA Midwest Tour will kick off the 2011 race season on Sunday, May 1st at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wisconsin. Qualifying for the Joe Shear Classic 136 will begin at 12:45 p.m. with racing at 2:00 p.m.
